I recently put on a shorty antenna, but was not very pleased with it. It makes a loud howling noise when going 60+ mph, like wind is coming through the windshield. My questions is, the guys out there running the real short one (seems to be a few inches)..yeah yeah thats what she said haha..are you guys experiencing this? I have attached a video for proof lol..and If I take the antenna off there is no noise!

I've proudly got a stubby little guy, but it's BLACK and FIERCE!

That being said, I noticed the truck got QUIETER with it on there.
It was the CravenSpeed unit

Drop the $20 for the Craven Speed unit.
It's awesome, no whistle, no issues and it looks MEAN!

I cannot attest to the reception.
1: I have Sirius, why would I listen to **** NM Radio?
2: I live out in the boonies, the factory radio / antenna sucked anywho.

Sirius sounds way worse than FM around here (for music). I honestly can't stand listening to a whole song. That's been the case on every Ford, Chrysler vehicle I've had. I would never pay for that cr@p.

I like the idea of cutting the stock antenna. I did this on a previous vehicle. You also get to keep your wonderful MPG. You know that slender, spiral design will gain you .0001 MPG. A short, fatty antenna will lose you .0002 mpg.
