Swapping out fog lights

I'm considering swapping out the stock fogs for a smoked set to match the new smoked headlights. Do you have to remove the whole front bumper to remove/install new fogs? I stuck my head under there and it looks pretty complicated. Are there any write-ups on how to do this anywhere?

not sure about the 1500. But I just replaced a fog on my 2500.

Real easy. 3 10MM bolts hold the assembly to the bumper. You may have to cut a wire tie on that bracket. The actual lamp is connected to the bracket with 3 or 4 plastic towers with tabs. You can use a tool to press and lift. Or find a socket / pipe that is right diameter to fit over the plastic tower AND squeeze the tabs.

Honestly , I'm making that last part seem complicated. Just use a screwdriver and press in each tab as you lift the bracket away.

So you're saying that they are basically attached to the back of the bumper and I should be able to remove them without removing the whole bumper cover itself?

Also, since the 2500's still use the same fog light style as my '12, do you think these would be a direct replacement?
