Tailgate gasket seal photos anyone?

I want to put the seal on the tailgate area and assume that it actually goes on the tailgate since that's the name of it. Correct?

Or does the seal go on the main body of the truck where the tailgate comes up and contacts the truck? Seems like it would work better on the truck body so it does move up and down with the tailgate.

Let me know and post a photo of how you did it to your truck.

I know this is an older thread, but I just did mine tonight. I also have a bedrug & that help seal the bed too.

The tailgate seal go on the bottom floor of the bed & the back so the tailgate closes against it. Likewise with the sides.....they attach to the back walls of the box.

I have no idea why thes pics loaded sideways. They are right side up on my computer.

So I'm all done except for this top bit.....anyone got anything to offer on how they trimmed this area off with the remnants of the tailgate seal?

Thanks for the pics....you've got the Rambox eh with that extra lip space for your side seals.

I've come up with a solution for the top of mine. Will post pics tonight when I have a chance.

Here's how I covered off the top portion just under the tonneau cover.

Seems to be doing the trick so far.
