So according to the 15 LED shootout on YouTube posted by Headlight Revolution, the best LEDs are the ones in the thread title. Pretty sure I found them on eBay for a lot less. Looks pretty legit. If they aren't exactly as described then I'll just send them back. But hey, for $25 bucks it's worth a shot.

2X PHILIPS LUMILEDS chip 9006/HB4 LED Headlights - 7000LM 50W LED 6000K White | eBay

They claim to use the almighty Lumileds Luxeon Z ES chips, so if it's anything less they will have to take them back.

Anybody else have experience with these?

received these in the mail. talk about FAST shipping! 2 days from Cali to Rhode Island. very happy so far, as these appear to be the same. one has to wonder, where does GTR Lighting get their products made?

Only difference I can spot is it appears GTR Lighting may have darkened the beveled faces directly adjacent to the chips. This may have an effect on light scatter. Seems easy enough to do myself if I feel it will have any discernible effect.

I will try to find a good spot to get some beam pattern shots against a wall.

Overall, satisfied with my purchase. For $25 bucks I really can't complain. Not sure if I completely love the "upgrade", as I don't love the color temp of LEDs. If these were say, 4500 to 5000k, I would probably be much happier. Maybe its just something to get used to. I have LEDs in my reverse and cargo lights, as well as auxiliary 6-LED back-up lights. and I also I knew what I was getting into as far as LED color temp due to working for a Lexus dealer, they have several models with LED headlights + foglights.

Would I pay $200 for these? Not a chance. Are these the same lights as GTR Lighting is selling? Magic 8-ball says "signs point to yes".

No doubt in my mind they're knock offs. Anything cheap on eBay is some Chinese knock off and mostly crap. Guarantee. They're just plain crappy led. They might make it not worth returning so you might not be sending them back.

Another update with installed pics.

I have bought a couple sets of Opt-7 FluxBeam-X LEDs for $110 and when I bought a pair of MicTuning 6000k LEDs for only $40 off Amazon and they came, they were the SAME EXACT IDENTICAL led's. Same bulb design, same driver, same connectors, same everything. The only difference was the Opt7 led's are Red metal and the MicTuning led's are Purple metal.

So I asked MicTuning on Amazon if they are the same as Opt7 and they actually answered and said "yes our led's are made at the same manufacturers plant as the Opt7 led's and are the same except for the color."

So there you have it. A ton of the led company's products are exactly the same as the cheaper ones you see that look identical but are colored different.

Are these all plug and play? Or do they require modifications of somesort?

plug and play. very easy to swap out. I did so on my back, on a dirt road, on a piece of cardboard, at night, with my only tool being a flashlight.

Where'd you get them for $25?, link says $50

They must have just raised the price, that's disappointing. Anyways, for a product that's otherwise only available @ $200, some might still find value @ $50

Only thing I can think of is if someone messaged the seller with a similar message as OnSale had mentioned, saying something like "are these the same LEDs that GTR Lighting is selling for $200?" And the seller realized he could get more money ...

Anyways, thread is still useful for those looking to switch to LEDs.

I've been looking at buying these GTR Gen 3 Ultra Series bulbs. Will they fit in the 4th gen OEM quad light housings, and the dust cap will go back on?

still good! I use them in my fogs, which are usually on when I drive. I like to do parking lights + fogs because it makes me feel cooler

I do notice a very slight flicker once maybe every 7 - 10 minutes, which lasts no more than a blink of an eye.

overall, still very happy with my purchase. I'm still trying to find the equivalent for my lows, which I currently have some 25 dollar LEDS in and the cutoff leaves a lot to be desired. Lowest I can find for the GTR H11s is $63 bucks ...
