Those that have the 8 speed with 3.21 gears and are running aftermarket wheels/tires, what size are you running and how is it compared to stock?

I run LT295/70R17S and they are great for what I want to do. Gas mileage decrease was negligible and zero felt power loss.

I do want to upgrade to 3.92's but I have other reasons for that.

I went from stock 17" wheels to 20" fuel wheels and 275/60 BF Goodrich KO 2's. There is no loss in power but lost about 1.5 miles per gallon.

It really just depends on wheel and tire you pick. I was torn between getting 17" or 20" rims. I am going to go with a 17" rim and 37" Nitto Ridge grapplers.

I looked at Fuel hostage 20x12 - 44lbs and 35x12.5 Ridge grapplers - 73.4lbs from web site =117lbs

17" fuel vector - 31lbs and 37" Ridge grapplers 81lbs =112lbs

I have 3.21's with some mods

I don't have them yet, but have 3.21's and will be going 18s with 35s. Not really worried about it. Will probably tune eventually. Only have a carven at the moment and will get either S&B or Vararram soon.

35 inch trail grapplers and custom 89 tune. Power/acceleration is fine but a slight decrease from stock tires.

I bought the tuner first because I hated the MDS. With the tune and comparing the bigger tire size there isn't a big difference.

I have stock sport wheels 35 inch G2 terra grapplers. I didnt notice a drop in performance, at least not a noticeable. Did take a 2-3 mpg hit to the chin though. That might be the tires and leveling kit combined. At 75mph the truck does need to drop a gear to make it up an overpass without lugging. I do not notice it unless im paying close attention.

3.21 on a '17 1500 w/ 37x13.5r18s. Just got 17mpg driving to Florida and back. Around town is 14.5-15. Overall, lost 1-2mpg.

I went from stock 17s to 18x9 with -12mm and 35x12.5x18s General Grabber X3s , 5.7 8sp and 3:21s and only the Carven Progressive.

I will say this you will notice the power loss the 35s will zap the zippy feeling out of it.
Now with that said it still has great power and moves out well but I do plan on install 3:92s and a tuner at some point to get some of more zip back.

No matter what gear you have you will notice the difference going from the factory tires to a bigger heavier tire and most likely a heavier wheel as well.

just my 2 cents

Few pictures and a vid of stock tires and one with the 35s.

My new 18 CC with stock everything feels sluggish, you have to whip it to get it going. If it does not spin up to 4k RPM if feels like it is a 4-cyl. Maybe it’s just me, my 3.5L eco-boost I traded had a lot more low end grunt. Wish I had gotten the 3.92.

Mines not sluggish at all, when it was stock it would light the tires up at 20mpg and before my camper shell it would spin the tires half way through 2nd gear.
Shoot my wife has yelled at me a few times that I was going to snap her kneck taking off from stop signs..lol

Now my 06 Z71 was a slug terrible slug..

You might look into a Pedal Commander.
