I'm sure I'm splitting hairs here, but in the mornings my tire pressure is 36 or 37 PSI. Once the tires warms up it comes up to 40.

Should I bump it up to 40 cold? Or leave it where it is?

Thanks.

I was always told park on a flat surface. Check the pressure at a cold temperature. Even a few miles can cause psi to change.

Set your tire pressure when cold. They will grow a bit, as you've noticed, when they heat up.

What tires do you have on the truck? What max pressure is specified?

It's a bit of a guessing game sometimes. I set my BFG's at 65 cold to start out and noted that I was getting a bit of uneven wear, with the tires wearing faster in the center of the tread. So I backed them off 10 psi and checked them again at 5K more miles. They had all evened out nicely. 65 psi was a bit high apparently and it was a bit bouncy. Backing off helped with the bounce, too.
