Into my second year with my 2016 Ram Laramie Hemi with air ride suspension. Stock tires came with Goodyear Wrangler SRA. Managed to get 25k miles out of them but these tires are downright scary awful.

Looking for a set of solid replacement tires in northeast with some snow. I'm convinced anything will be better than what I have but looking for opinions on what is best overall replacement tire?

I like the BFG KO2 on my 1/2 ton truck. Within a week or so, I plan to get a set for my 3500 as well. They are great in snow!

Yeap, BFG KO2s, Nitto Terra Grappler 2s, Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Toyo ATs or RTs, Mickey Thompson ATs, lots of them out there.
Really depends do you want a mild AT or something leaning more to a MT ?

I like Michelin AT2's. Long wearing, pretty quiet, good wet traction and pretty good in the snow.

I have Nitto trail grapplers on my 2015 1500. They look great, aren't really noisy, and ride smooth. They are a MT tire so they have the aggressive look and are surprisingly good in Rain and dry conditions. Haven't had them in the snow on this truck but my buddy has them on his 150 and they handled well even in deep snow.

What about Firestone Destination A/T - anyone here using this tire? There is a Special Edition blackwall featuring Carbon Black Camo design that looks interesting...really want a good all season most road tire with minimal if any off road

I think Tire Rack ranks the Firestones second or third just behind the BFG's. They get pretty good reviews.

I went with the Falken Wildpeak at3w. They have a 65k mile warranty and are snow rated.

I just got them in September, not sure how they do in snow yet but they are amazing in the rain. Full confidence driving on wet roads.a5067db4ea1cf53b9fad1503e9931021.jpgb036cd8c0be09ac5d272bce76a8bcab9.jpg

Heres a few pics i snapped the other day, the level kit gets installed tomorrow. They do rub at full lock so the level kit should fix that.

Decided to go with Firestone Destination AT. First and most noticeable difference is a firmer/less compliant ride (bad thing). Second, the wet and dry traction is like driving on glue boards compared to the stock Goodyear SRA (good thing). I have 30 days to decide if I can live with them. If I can't may end up trading them in for Michelin's or Bridgestone all season tires.

Could not keep the Destination ATs unfortunately just too uncomfortable for me. Swaping them out for Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus today. Glad I bought at Firestone as they give you the ability to try for 30 days and exchange if you don't like. Decided the AT tires are just not worth tradeoff in comfort for me.

Are you guys taking a mpg hit or two going to the heavier tires? Most the stock size AT tires seem to be about 15lbs heavier at each corner over the Wrangler SR-A's.

I did see about a 1-2 MPG hit in the two days now that I had them on. Usually got about 15.3 MPG in city with my old SR-As and am seeing about 14.5~ with the Destination ATs. Another reason I'm going to trade out to the all season Bridgestone Duelers.

However, most noticeable difference was in vibration of truck overall at about 40-50mph. No so much noisy but not very comfortable with ATs. SRAs were terrible as far as traction was concerned but they were quiet and comfortable.

I do a lot of driving, here's what I've got:

May 2017 - 4,000 miles - 23.7 mpg average
August 2017 - 5,551 miles - 23.3 mpg average
September 2017 - 3,495 miles - 22.6 mpg - new tires 9/11/17
October 2017 - 3,769 miles - 22.6 mpg

I've lost about 1 mpg based on the spreadsheets I keep. I'll admit it looks a lot worse on the EVIC, but the spreadsheets are not off by much.

According to TireRack, the Destination and Bridgestone are both 44lbs...roughly 4lbs heavier than the SRA. If you lost mpg with the Destination, you won't get it back with the Bridgestone.
