So, I just scored a cover for 360 bucks off amazon. You can find them used with new hardware amd recertified if you look by model number. While watching many videos I came across a video showing how to defeat the revolver x2 with a flat head. Basically they slip the flathead under the tailgate end slip and pop the cord. Well I just fixed it with a simple metal bracket, silicon glue and duct tape. I wouldn't screw it on as the threads would grind on the cable as you use it.

First, silicon glue the bracket into place held on by tape of choice, I used masking tape as its easy to take off.

****Let it cure****

Second. Tri-fold a piece of duct tape and place in front of bracket and held by duct tape.

Third, seal the entire mechanism with duct tape but rip where your hand would go to release the cable and tuck it behind the metal bracket in front of the cable.

Enjoy a cover without the vulnerability. With glue and tape that sh*t wont move.

There is a video out there where a guy goes nuts but I am a simple guy and dont need to mod like crazy.

1st pic: bracket glued on.

2nd. Sealed on with duct tape.

3rd. Tape folded once, fold again. This is done before picture 2, just wanted to give a visual how I did it.

4th. Single tape this is 2nd seal for a more seamless look.

5th under shot to slow you dont tape over the cable and to simply tear vertically and tuck behind bracket and in. Front of cable. Just pull the cable away to make it easy.

This is the cover I have been looking at. I have always had the vinyl roll up cover. Never once had any take anything. Not too worried. I just don't leave anything important in the back for long periods.

I am more worried about them popping it open and simply taking it as a gift.

Another reason I am glad I returned that ****!

First I was told to be creative with silicone, now duct tape!
