Hi everyone,

I noticed that underside of my factory cover has some mildew. Cover and truck are only 9 months old. I called ram support and they said call your service department who was no help. I clean and treat the outside of the cover with 303 but im not sure what I should do for underneath.

Do you think this would be covered under warranty since it's a factory part? If not I'll try cleaning it but I'm trying to avoid giving them a reason not to help if I end up going to a dealer for help.

Anyone have any experience with this? I like the factory cover but it does let some water in with a good storm so I guess that only added to this problem.

Any help is appreciated.

Paul

Mildew = moisture, are your bed drains open/clogged/plugged with bed liner? Go in your bed, have someone close the tailgate, can you see daylight? If so, your covers not installed properly.

Drains are not clogged. The cover does not seal 100% at the rear corners near the tailgate. Noticed that from day 1 but never had a issue with it as water getting in was minimal but obviously it's caused a problem now. This is the soft trifold cover for the rambox bed. Anyone have a similar issue? Been eyeing different covers anyways but was hoping to put that purchase off for a while.

I have the same issue with my Bed Cover for my 2016 1500 with Ramboxes. I just dropped my truck off for ceramic coating and showed that to them. They said they can address it I’ll post up pictures when I get my truck back and hopefully with a solution after they fix it

Use an outdoor vinyl cleaner that you would use on patio equipment. Spray on, let sit, power wash off.

My cover is not factory however one of my buddies has a ram box factory cover and experienced the moisture leakage. The fix was basic weather stripping in the corners to help it seal. As for treatment of the cover +1 on the vinyl cleaner.

Thanks for the reply. How does the cover look after they cleaned it? Are you in NY? Looks like you have a NY plate. If so, where did you have the coating done? I might have to do the same before winter. Also if you don't mind sharing, how much did the detail and coating run you?
