Tonneau Cover short bed

First Post and First Dodge!

Good Morning Everyone,

I just purchased my Ram 1500 BigHorn and I love the truck thus far! I am in the need of a cover for the back of my Ram and I have read the posts in this forum thus far. One question I have is that I have the stock bed liner which extends of the sides of the bed and thus my cover needs to work with that.

I was looking at a Lund 96064 Genesis Roll-Up Tonneau Cover which is on Amazon for 250.00. I want a roll up cover as I coach sports and often needs access to the bed to put my equipment in. Does anyone have any experience with this type of cover?

My only experience is that they are difficult to re-attach in cold weather (shrinks) and with +6 inches of snow on top they seem to cave in.

If you live in a warm climate, never-mind.

I have a backflip g2 tri fold on my truck, i often have it folded all way way up and hate that I lose rear visibility. Next truck I plan on going with the revolver x2. Seems like it will be even easier to fold/roll up and will keep rear visibility. (hoping also easier to take out when you absolutely need the full bed)

Whatever you do, don't get the oem one. Huge pain in the ass and stupid locking system that takes forever.

I have the BakFlip G2 as well. I really like it a lot. It does have visibility issues when up, but I almost never have it like that while driving. I could also remove it completely very quickly for long drive if need be. I picked it up on craiglists with a BakBox for under half price.

I have a BAK RollBak G2 aluminum tonneau, pricey yes but strong, secure, and dry. When I bought it was between this and the Roll and Lock, I don't think I would have been happy with a fabric/folding tonneau.

What do you think About these brands:

Tri fold....

Obviously I would love a bakflip revolver x2. But, I need a cheap alternative. Just something to protect cargo from sun damage.

Just incase anyone was debating it, I bought that gator one. It's been on for 2 years now and is still in good condition. Doesn't seal fully so you get dust inside, but it keeps the rain out! For the price I'm very happy with it.

i have the undercover lux, it comes color matched is lightweight and hangs in the garage when you want it off. Hard to see in the pic but it has lines on it that match the roof. I would buy it again.

Wow, thanks for your feed back. People swear their bakflip cover is better than the air we breathe. Maybe install error or a defective cover? Or perhaps....just a designs flaw? I do like that revolver x2.
