Looking for some info and recommendations for tonneau covers. I have a black ‘14 Longhorn CC.

I’m really interested in the folding or retractable models.

What are the good ones and what do I need to avoid.

Thanks for any information!!

Extang Trifecta Signature Series. Had one on my 2006 Frontier for 7 years and it was still in great shape. I've had this one my Ram for almost 5 years now and its still in great shape.

I really like my Bak F1, got it from Bak Factory Outlet, Morrie. He gave a great price too. 3 1/2 years and it's still like new.

I just put on an Undercover Ultra Flex yesterday. I wanted hard folding, and this one fit the budget. Paid $799 shipped, and got it in a day. Not enough experience to say if it was a good buy or not.

I have the access Lomax hard folding cover, it’s very low profile. Saw it on a 2016 SEMA video and customoffset video. I really like it a lot, 100 satisfied and it’s made in USA. Got mine at autoanything.

I got the Extang Solid fold cover 4 years ago and it’s been awesome. My truck bed is now a secure lockable storage area and the cover can take quite a bit of weight. I’ve walked on it as a lookout point and used it folded up as a bench when tailgating

I've had 3 roll n locks and I've been happy with all of them. As far as I know they take up the least room of the retractables. They've all been solid, but you have to clean and grease the lock and latch mechanism to keep them from freezing shut in winter and the drains need to be cleaned out occasionally or it'll overflow into the box. Not completely water and dust proof, but I've never had anything back there get more than a small amount of water on it. Still wouldn't buy anything else. I spent a bit of time researching this time around for something better and still went back to roll n lock.

I have an Extang Solid Fold 2.0 on my 17 CC Lone Star. I love it. install was quick and easy, I can completely remove it in about 5 minutes. I run through the automatic car wash about once a month, and I dont get more than about a tablespoon or 2 of water at most. It has never gotten rain water in it (hell, even hurricane harvey didnt get water in it). Being on the Texas coast, we get a lot of rain.

Tonneaucoverworld.com has a nice Gator brand. I had one on my 1500 for 4 years, now just got one for my new 2500

I’m looking for a good solid tri-fold or retractable tonneau myself but I don’t know which online reviews to trust and which ones to ignore. lol.

I don’t mind spending the money on a good one, I just want one that will be pretty secure and something that won’t leak when it rains. As far as wanting a tri-fold that will be easy to remove or a retractable one that includes a little more in-depth installation, I don’t know which one would fit my needs better. I like the removability of a tri-fold but since I really don’t think that trait would be all that useful to me, I could be fine with a retractable that takes up more of the bed.

The tri-folds I’ve been looking into is the Trifecta solid fold, Bakflip F1, Bakflip MX4, Bakflip G2.

The retractables I’m looking at are the Retrax Pro, Retrax MX, Roll-n-Lock A-Series, and the Bak Rollbak G2.

Had an undercover ultra flex. Less than a month or two in I had issues with the seals and ended up getting rid of it. In my experience, not worth the cash.

I wanted a folding cover. My main concern was how much it would fade 2, 3, or 4 yrs down the road. I chose the fibermax because it's solid black, figuring it would fade less vs vinyl.
Just completed a cross country trip though some mild-semi heavy rain. No frog stranglers, but no leaking from the cover.
So far well pleased & would purchase again.

I’ve had Bakfilp fiber max and F1, two undercover flex’s and I feel the undercover is a better deal.
You get thicker FRP panels under 800 bucks

I have a Bakflip MX4 for 10 Months and it survived even hurricane Nate.
Sturdy, 98% watertight, locks with tailgate lock, very good quality
No complains!

Thought I'd attach a couple pics of the roll n lock so you can see how much space it takes up

I take it that roll-n-lock has a key lock on it somewhere so that the tailgate doesn’t have to be put down first? I don’t mind dropping my tailgate to access the bed, just curious. Is it pretty water tight?

I see it left your stake pockets open. Is that an option? I’d like to get those tubular rails to go in those for tie-downs.
