Hello,
I bought a used Ram 1500 2011 (4x4).
Today I loaded it with around 230 gallons of water and I noticed it that the back of the truck went down by a lot because of the weight.
I ve previously used trucks from other brands to load this same amount of weight and noticed that those wouldnt get as low as mine did. (Not bashing on dodge. I love my truck and the brand itself).

Anyways, earlier this year I was inspecting the suspension and noticed that the front coils had some weird and pretty ****** "lowering" job. Or at least I think thats what the previous owner attempted to do. Here is a video of the trucks suspension

https://youtu.be/O_OjfEiK6xc

_______

The other day someone told me that it has some shorter coils and that is actually messing with my whole truck. Previous owner lived in the city. I live on a pretty rough rocky terrain ranch. So I want to make sure I have the proper suspension settings.

I was wondering if you guys could tell me, where can I find the actual proper coils of my truck. I would also like to know if there are some heavy duty ones or something not as soft (or is it supposed to be soft?)

Since I will be buying online, I want to make sure I am ordering the proper ones.

Please feel free to add any opinions or suggestions

Edit: extra info on my truck.
4x4 single cab
The inside of the bed meassures a wee bit more than 6feet. Idk if thats the short or long bed...

Looking for the 4 springs. I would like to chnage them all...

Look at TufTruck Springs, I run the TTC-1223. Here is a pic for comparison.

Stock on the right, New Springs On the left. They claim and increase of 50% over stock. I like them they work good when I Tow.

Hey those look great. And I had oreviously seen them online. I just never heard of the. Before and wondered of they were good quality.

I see they also sell a Heavy Towing version of them. I will also be towing stuff frequently on this ranch...

Did your truck height increased by 2-4 inches? Hows that going? Idk if I should increase the height. Does that affect performance or stability?

TTC-1211S are what I have, nest thing you can do is upgrade them to tuff truck coils.

It did raise it, but I put Bils on the front at 2.8, it works good, feels like a truck more now. I also run Airbags, and the two in combo is a great way to manage the extra weight.

I actually was looking into these since they say heavy towing.
I will be towing 6000 to 8800 pounds occasionaly. Dont know what could happen if I dont do it regularly. I see they say that these are recommended for continuos load. It wont be load continuously...

They are not bad without a load, as I don’t have anything in the bed now and my trucks a daily driver. Just stiffer suspension. Look up Bilstein 5100 for the front and set them at 2.8 and it will be just right.

Yeah aparently those are for larger trucks. Mine is a single cab short bed.
I need the coils. Not the shocks.

The shocks will help level the front with the back when you add the coils, since empty it will add 3” or so. Mine was right at 3” in the back, so I used the shocks upfront to get it back up.

It will ride more firm but its not a ruff ride. They also make some coils that are rated for less weight but still more than stock.

Guys I understand that tufftruck rear coils offer a little bit more rigidity on the rear. To my understanding, they would also help while towing something.
But would it be smart to buy these and later on install some air suspension? or would this combo not work properly?

I dont know much about air suspensions so I dont know if I should just stick to stock coils for air suspensions.

and what do air suspensions do exactly? avoid having the rear of the truck "sitting" with heavy loads?

I have both, if you get coils to tow with you really dont need air bags as your wdh takes the weight off the back of the truck.
I have both for when I need to haul something heavy and they work great to keep the truck level and handle the weight better.
Both might be over kill, one or the other will serve you just fine.

I️ have coils and airbags and it works well while towing. I’m going to upgrade my airbag setup to Timber Grove and I️ will be set.

I swapped to the 1223v springs, which immediately also required a small spacer just to get back to stock height (actually 1/2 inch higher). They ride and tow great, and don't squat as much as the OEM coils but they're still too soft for the stuff I do. I've been considering stiffer coils, but will more likely try the Timber Grove bags first. Decisions, decisions.
