Hey guys the tires I’m running are 305/55/20 Toyo Open Country R/Ts. I had them road forced to try and get rid of shake but they are still shaking anyone have any idea on what my next step should be?
Thanks in advanced

Surprising how often this takes place but hardly ever is it the actual tire. I have gone through this with 3 1500 rams since 03. I am getting 2 new 35" KO2s in an hour. A road force balancer said two have hard spots in it . I doubt it will cure it . Once it was a CV shaft on left front of my 03 which I found accidentally by hitting the boot while changing the wheel bearings or what ever they are call now days. Changed wheel bearing , test drove still vibes . I saw the grease mess I made so I swapped the CV axle shaft next morning and vibes gone. I chased that vibe for a year and two sets of 35" tires. Hardly ever do you see a fix listed on the forums for some reason.. The 07 I gave up and traded it in for a JK. Now again with a 14 . I am beginning to think the weight of the new tires are making an existing vibe more noticeable. Other things I have heard that are blames for the vibe are Rotors, big soft OE bushings in lower front control arms tie rod ends, drive shaft , loose pinion nut . Thats all that come to mind right now besides the very rare time it is actually a tire. I find it hard to believe I got two 35-12.50.20 BFG KO2s out of 4. Been using BFG Its since they came out in the later 70s, never an issue before

Well as I said I was getting two new KO2s and just back from a test ride. It had no effect what so ever . Its a shame for the tire place to have to eat two tires for no reason. I have 4 Rancho 9000 shocks 2 being quick lifts, Stock express chrome clad 20x9 wheels , no spacers and a 1.5" Body lift and only 38000 miles on the truck .

Don't know about Fanta1500 but my OE wheels are hubcentric. Its all you can do to get the wheels off they fit the hub so tight. Not trying to steal thread just trying to help also

This is my set up for those that don’t know. Maybe the weight of the wheel in general?

If you just changed from stock wheel to after market ones the make sure they remover the rotor retaining clips. If they are still on the whelp stud it'll cause the wheel not to sit against the rotor correctly

Not sure. I run a 22x10 bzo king lip with 305/40/22 and have never had a issue with balancing them.

After further inspection it looks like my front CV axle shafts have a lot of play . Every U tube video showing a bad one sounds about the same frequency as mine and it is the same MPH as my 03 was when I had a similar issue just bot as bad. I will do a little research to see if any one brand stock replacement is any better than another and order a pair. I know it will not be a MOPAR seeing how many I read about going bad many with low mileage that I know of since 2003 anyway.

OP you said you had them road force balanced. How much road force did you have on each wheel?

anything in the low 20-pound range or higher I would suspect you would feel, despite the wheels being balanced.

I've had the same issue it sounds with a 2015 ram 1500 . So it rules out bad CV joint plus I had dealer inspect whole drive train . No matter what I did from balancing (static, dynamic, road force) had it all done, to replace two tires that couldn't be roadforce still had same issue . Vibration or shimmy at highway speeds ..... Speny alpmost a 1000 bucks trying to fix this. Still have it . My hub rings have a small amount of play . 1/8" approx on my hub... So tomorrow I'm going to order custom aluminum rings . It's my last ditch effort . The shimmy isn't bad that I can't deal with it but I'm a. Bit neurotic and want an absolute smooth ride . My tires are nitto Terra grappler g2's 305-55-20 but are 10 ply which could be some of the issue with a -18 offset . Who knows I'm learning to accept the shimmy lol

Yeah each wheel had 21,21,23,26. The 26 was the happy medium wheel the guy called it. Can you increase the pounds so you won’t feel? I’m not too knowledgeable on road force. I just know that it puts force on the wheel as if you were driving and balances it.

New CV shafts in and if it had any effect it was marginal. Getting tired of chasing this BS on the last three Ram 1500s. After almost 10 years of Ram 1500s maybe its time to go back to the other two brands I ran for my first 30 some years of driving. This is getting old with only 38,000 miles.

Had the same problem with my 1500. Installed dyna beads and shake is gone. Also the dyna beads keep the tire balanced for the life of the tire. Research wheel balance beads.

Just seemed odd with the OE tires I had no vibe at all. I will go back to the place that did the Hunter balance. They insisted it was 2 of my tires. I have since had the two they indicated replaced with no change. I will go pick their brain as they took more of an interest than the place I bought the tires from . Seems to be a bit of an issue with balancing chrome clad wheels I have read also. I would think if they used the wrong collet the RF balancer would of picked that up.
