Hey everyone,

I just recently got a set of the TYC 13+ OEM style projectors and the plug and play adapter harness from Retro Shop. Being I have a 2014, I got 2 of those big blue resistors for each side. For those that have used the Retro Shop projector adapter on their 13+; where did you end up mounting those 4 resisters? I know they need to be mounted to metal, just thought Id get idea's on where to best place them.

If you have done this and have pictures that would be great!

Also, im thinking of adding in the HID kit from Retro Shop. Is it safe to mount the Can Bus adapter inside the light housing with the HID ballast? Or has anyone used the new style LED bulbs in their projectors?

Thanks!

Not sure on the resistors. My truck came with factory projectors. But yup you can stuff all the HID goodies including ballast and canbus adapters in the housing. Hope your good at playing Tetris.....

The resistors from the old relay harness get hot. The canbus adapters don't.

My 10' only required one resistor per side,
you can see it next to the rad support in the photo above

Here's what my drivers side looked like, lots of metal there to mount to.

They do have to be grounded and mounted away from plastic, and 13+ Rams that didn't come with projectors
require two resistors, one for bulb-out error messages, the other to prevent hyperflash of the signals

they are the only pieces that get hot enough to melt plastic

nice, got it all stuffed in there?!?!

I haven't done it yet on the new XB ballasts......the one I tried, I was in a time crunch and just couldn't get it ...... didn't want to F it up! FXR.......nom nom...........

As for LED bulbs, all that I have seen on the market are too deep to fit behind the dust caps.

Yup got it all in. I was surprised.
Now to wait for it to get dark so I can adjust the headlights.
They're aimed way too low.

I didn't even put my resisters on yet. I was in a pinch for time and couldn't find a suitable spot.

I keep this in my center console now,
constantly tweaking my aim up and down through several setups

Tape on the 7mm bit so I didn't lose it while pulling it out
(only have to do that once and never again lol)
