How many of you have your trucks undercoated I have 16,500 miles on my 2012 and am wondering if it really is worth the $500

I did not 'opt' for anything from the dealer.

It's all snake oil IMO

Before I even bought my truck (2013) I knew I would be getting it undercoated. One of the main reasons I got rid of my 2003 Dakota was because of rust underneath the truck (mainly the bed). The rest of the truck was in great shape (never wrecked, low miles). I actually felt bad getting rid of it. I don't know if it will help my new truck or not, but I figured it couldn't hurt. I'm hoping this one lasts me at least another 10 years.

I would do it myself with chassis saver or por 15, just do a little at a time because it is a big job. Yes I've done it before and will do it soon to my ram too. If I was in a more harsh environment then I currently am, I would consider rolling bedliner under there instead of rust paint, I think it would be better at repelling the winter salts.

I believe if you drive on dirt/gravel roads and/or live in an area they use salt/traction sand during the winter, it is worth the extra protection.

I would never pay the dealer for it but think the truck they found for us has it, and feel better for it with out 6+ month winters :chair:

I paid for it from the dealer on my used truck. Came out to $350. I live in Omaha, and they love to use the salt and the harsher chemical snow-melt out here.
