Vinyl paint protectant...

Many of you folks had the vinyl paint protectant added to the front most part of your hood and consider it a good investment????

My vendor here in Central Virginia wants about $250 for the job!!!!!!!

250 is cheap as chips... Make sure he's protecting what you expect to be protected.

I've had it on my G8 for 4.5 years and it DOES work. I find it a PITA to work around though and going forward, I may just say screw it and do a repaint when necessary.

3M makes a spray on clear bra too. I started a thread here about it.

Thanks for the info! The $250 is only for a strip ~24" high and full width across the hood

That seems awful expensive IMO. I'd buy the spray!

The front of a Sports--the bumper and grill and the rear view mirrors can cost up to $625-$650. Thats w/o doing any of the hood or rocker panels.

Thanks for the replies...............

Just got home from an 800-mi (round trip) vacation!

I am surprised how far up the front of the hood, I collected "Bug Juice" and how thick the crap was!

Even got my 1st paint chip, having only owned the truck for 2-weeks!

May go next week and get the paint protectant film installed on the front of the hood!
