Want to add: 5" exhaust tips

Guys,

I did all the searching I could stand to do before putting up a new post.

I want to add 5" exhaust tips to my rig. I really like the MBRP 5" tips. I know that they have a 4" inlet and also know that they make a 2.25" to 4" adapter. Here's my question(s):

Does anyone make a 2.25" to 5" exhaust tip without the use of an adapter? If they don't, does anyone make an adapter that you do not need to weld?

I'm trying to avoid (1) cutting my existing tips and (2) welding. Thanks in advance for the help!

Our 5" tips are clamp on and allow you to keep your resonators in place, but we only offer them in a polished finish. I guessing by the overall theme of your truck that you would rather go with black. I ended up having a set powdercoated black for my 2015, and they came out really nice.

A custom exhaust shop should be able to expand and make a adapter for you. My buddy just put on 5" tips and they have a 4" inlet

That's probably the route I will go. Can you PM me a link to the ones that are clamp on?

I thought about having a shop expand mine but am trying to keep costs down. I'll call one to at least get a price.

Worth a shot.. The shop only charged my buddy $100 for both adapters and installation. Seems like a good price to me but I know every shops different.

Way back when I did mine.....it was a bit $$. I dropped $185 on the tips (5" x 18" MBRP), like....$40 (can't remember if that was each or a set) for the RBP 2.5-4" adapter.....then 100-150 for the resonator removal and tip install.

Love the look though.

But, if I where to do it again, I'd hit up Matt at Moes.

+1 for the 5" ones from Matt at Moe's - I had mine powder coated black.

Yea those look awesome! Can you send me the link to those by chance??

Also, for you guys who put bigger tips on... Any noticeable sound difference??

A little of both... But definitely for looks more so than sound. With my body lift, my stock tips look WAY too small..

i added a set mufflex 5 inch tips that another member sold me here on the forum and they were bolt on except the pipe lengths were different his truck was a 2011 mine is a 2014 must of been a change with the exhaust between years i had have to have a buddy thats good at welding extend the pipe on one of my tips 2 inches to equal out the lengths to make it work on my truck my next set will be from moes if these wear out because those are true bolt on here is a pic i took before i added the drivers side big difference over the stock tips i get a lot of compliments on them .i didn't notice any difference is sound my Mufflex dod14 sounded good anyway lol

Side by side that does look much better...like that's what should have been there from the factory.

Adam, those are the right ones. Just a heads up, but we sold our last set on Tuesday, and should have more ready to ship next week.
