Plusses and minuses for both types. I found the in-channel ones were lower profile which was nice but they'd freeze the window closed which was a royal PITA especially when the snow got up under it and packed in. I've got a set of stick-ons now and while I wasn't a fan of them at the start because they were stick on, they have lasted at very high speeds, don't scape up the window edge, and I didn't have any window freezing issues (outside of the normal window freezing).
Avs in channels for me has worked nicely for me in the northeast. No issues what so ever.

Good to hear, what did they cast you? Are they more expensive or less then the AVS?I have in channel weathertech vents on my 2014. Never had a problem with them getting frozen or snow up between them and the window. Always have worked great.
