I really want to order a curved CREE lightbar for the front bumper of my truck now that I've seen some videos etc. What's the longest bar I can fit at the bottom front bumper area? Anyone know? I'm stuck at work and I want to order it today.

TIA!

oh one other question. Is it easy to get the wire through the firewall so that I can install a switch on the dash for these light bars? I've never done this, so I was wondering how difficult it is.

I plan on installing a 50" double LED strip tomorrow. I can't answer your firewall question because I haven't done it yet but my light bar is going across the top of my windshield. If it fits in the bumper it would have to go along the top. I thought only a 20" would fit in the front bumper but someone recently installed a 30". I would think that's all that can fit and probably without you're hooks. I want to keep my tow hooks so I think I'm limited to 20".

Yeah 20" is what I plan on getting. Those tow hooks can prove to be needed one of these days.

Not sure about the light bar

but it's to run wires through the cab. There a cut out on the firewall were the clutch would be on manual rams. It has plastic cap to fill in the void. Just drill a small hole and run your wires. VERY Simple.

I dont' have tow hooks. I have a Ram Sport. I saw another thread where a guy installed the 42" light bar in the bottom area where the hooks would be....just wondered if I could fit a 50" there.

I dont believe you can fit bigger then 42" down there but youd have to measure, thats without tow hooks, with hooks no bigger then 20", and ya wires are real easy to run

OK. Thanks guys. I guess now I just have to decide if I want the 42" in the bumper...or put a 50" curved on the roof right where the windshield meets the roof line. I'm kinda torn. Any thoughts?

I think the light bar in the bumper is a cleaner look..

One on the roof just looks silly unless you got your truck jacked up, mud tires, winch etc. Like it might actually go off road.. lol

This is a test fire of it, I plugged it into the foglight

Very tight, I might add a few washers to bring it a bit further out.

That looks beautiful!

I just installed mine today. 50" across the windshield and two 3"cubes in the bumper. It's disgusting bright at night.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a 20" but want a single row full length.

42" is the max that will fit. Unless you find a 44" that's custom lol.

I didn't want to drill the manual plastic cover... I can fit wired through the hood latch grommet and it will keep it all water tight. If u drill the plastic you need a sealing gasket not just a grommet. Something that looks like an accordion to seal it up as that goes right into the cabin.

I run a 42" curved rigidhorse (amazon 5D) in the bumper cutout and a 42" single 5D below it. The single row doesn't hang lower than the plastic air dam under so it doesn't hit anything like curves or parking stops.

Made my own brackets.

With them on. I adjusted for the brightness. U can't look right at them or it physically hurts.

the sport bumper have the same cut as this? These one looks like mine. I mounted my light bar behind which blocks some of one row.

Sorta, the sport bumper cutout looks longer and alittle wider. The bar fits in the cutout perfectly. Put alittle foam on the bottom to keep the paint from rubbing. I also put some clear vinyl on the bumper below so it would rub that instead of the paint.
