It about time to get my windows tinted. (including front windshield) Mostly doing it for the looks. Don't mind going dark but don't want to go too dark where it's a hassle at night to see out. Looking for the percent tint where it's hard for people to see in during the day but doesn't have that much of an effect during night driving. What do you guys think would be a good percent to get them tinted? Thanks. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I've always done 5% tint all the way around with a sunstrip. For my truck, the previous owner tinted over the factory tint and I added 35% on the full windshield. The guy that did the tint on the windshield said the front windows looked 20-25%ish and the back windows looked 5%. I think it's a good balance and easier to see out at night vs. 5%. I think you can make out outlines decently when it's sunny out. Nobody realizes the entire front windshield is tinted.

Looking at it closer, I'd say the front windows look closer to 35 that's on the windshield. Maybe they're just slightly darker than the windshield

I like tinting mine with multiple layers of lighter tint over each other rather than a single layer of dark tint as it nets roughly the same darkness on the outside while being lighter and easier to see out of on the inside, which helps tremendously at night. I've got 35% over 20% (equals ~7%) on the front two, 20% over the stock 20% (~4%) on the back two, 35% over 20% over the stock 20% (~1.4%) on the rear window, and 50% on the windshield with a modest 5% strip up top. Hard to see in during a sunny day and pretty much impossible to on a cloudy day. Zero problems with nighttime visibility especially after adding HID's and aux backup LED's. I know my way of tint over tint isn't that practical but I've got a buddy who owns a tint shop and doesn't charge me much so I'll gladly take advantage. Hope this helps.

Inside view of 7% on front and 50% on windshield (before strip)

Direct sunlight. Hard to tell windshield is tinted.

Directly into clouds. Can definitely tell windshield is tinted.

If you want NO hassle seeing out at night, I would go no darker than 15% on the front windows and back glass. That is still plenty dark, especially if you'll have tint on the windshield.

I had 5% on my last patrol car and it was hard to see out my side windows at night. I'd stay with the 15-20% range on the two front windows personally.

Agreed, @ 5%, you'll find yourself rolling down the window often times to turn on dark streets, especially if the weather is bad. In my first car, I had 5% and it was extremely foggy... Ended up pulling into a massive ditch instead of a driveway lol. Never deterred me, but my fiance hates the dark tint since she has problems seeing at night and often drives my vehicles home after I've been drinking. Not uncommon for her face to be pressed up against the glass trying to see out lol.

Damn you... I'm going to have to get my front windows darker after paying close attention to them now.

I was wondering if anyone has 15 percent tint all around and also if your windshield is tinted and to what percent. Pics would be awesome and really helpful. Any input is highly appreciated.

Think mine is 20% and at the legal factory line on the windshield.
