Window tint

Anyone ever have any issues with window tint? I have a 2013 quad cab express and I got my front windows tinted to match the rear from the factory. Had them on for a month then got pulled over exclusively for the tint. First time I have ever been pulled over and the cop gave me a ticket for $255! Wondering if anyone has ever fought a ticket or even been stopped exclusively for tint.

I have never been pulled over for my window tint. It all depends how dark you go.

I went with 20%. Haven't had any issues in my own town. I guess the cop had nothing better to do.

I believe the rear is around 20 from the factory. He used a tint meter on my front windows and it read 18% and the darkest you can go in MA is 35%. Just seems like a hefty fine for my first offense.

Mine are tinted the legal limit here in Kansas which is 35%,
I have been pulled over a few times and got a $100 ticket and had to scrap my windows (new to me truck that had the windows already done) one time.
I see trucks/cars with illegal tint all the time and dont know how they get away with it.

See if they will "tear the ticket up" if you scrap the windows and have them re-read the windows.
Thats how I got out of my ticket.

Mine are backs 20, fronts 35 and windshield 35... I'm sure I'll go down in flames with the insurance if I ever have a crash, but never so much as a second look from Johnny Law. I'm active military and the base police don't bat an eye at the gates either...you really just caught the wrong officer on the wrong day.

I did 15% all around on top of the back looking to do the front windshield as well but maybe like a 50%

Hope this doesn't come back to haunt me, but i have Always have ran 5% on all my vehicles. Never had a single problem. Even had a cop come up to me at steak and shake to admire my charger and when we were talking he asked what shade my tint was. I told him 5. He quickly said "you know that's illegal right?" I told him yes, and he just said okay and went on talking about other things.

I'm in Ohio, I've always had 20% all around. In my car I was pulled over exclusively for my tint and paid a $100 fine. I've had several other cops mention it needed taken care of but only once gotten a ticket. It all depends on the cop and how much of an idiot you act like. I always roll all my windows down when they walk up to help my case. And I have a concealed carry so that typically helps me too

Also, depending on state, they can't make you roll up an already rolled down window. I always roll all of mine down and open the back slider.

There's no "first time offender" for tint tickets. It's just a "well you fkd up" kinda thing. I run 20 on all the sides + bacj and 70 on the front.

Its been about 20 years now (wow...) ,but when I was in highschool I was pulled over in 2 different vehicles of mine for tint violation. Had 5% on both. Beleive at that time I was given a "fix it" ticket. $200 plus fines seems damned harsh for tint.

Just go to the tint shop and see if they will give you a "receipt" stating you got the tint removed. Probably have to pay them a few bucks but cheaper than taking it off and getting it redone. I've never had a problem and I'm in NY.

In Michigan it is illegal to have any tint on front windows. City cops usually won't say anything if they aren't 5%. But state cops will pull you over in a second. You can get an eye doctor note. But my luck I'll get pulled over on the way home from drinking just too many adult beverages. So I don't risk it. I believe it's 2 points on your license for tint in Michigan also. I want to do mine bad. Just not worth the risk to me

5% all the way around. Hard to see backing up at night, usually have to put window down
