Part number is 1BC77TRMAA...iust tapped it into the center light....
Pulled off the center light... played down tape as a template... traced the cutout on the headliner.... applied the tape in the rear whwn I wanted the light to be... and started cutting with a razor blade.... 15min install including wiring. ec0868c9075e29161335aed2e4037d9b.jpg8d48cb0bfdfd046061a5414a552ea693.jpg6bfbdebe2b8269aa537e59f979cfcfc2.jpga0fcf0639000e4fa23602474bf0fee5e.jpg

A OLD Thread revival lol. But some great info. I want to do this as well.

Lorenzo136 Update with any pics would be great !

I would assume there is no factory connection. And I think you could fish a wire from the center dome to the rear !
No one in the post said they pulled the head liner so my guess is it is flexible enough to snake a wire! I have a plastic cable snake like this https://www.amazon.com/Electrical-T...uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

that I will try when the temps get WAY above the freezing mark :O or a piece on 10 Ga. or 12 Ga. wire should be firm enough to slip through the liner

The space in the rear just looks too empty and looks like they forgot the light lol

I installed the rear light and yea I cut the hole for it with an exacto knife, anxiety level was high but it worked, hole looked rough but I under cut versus overcut till I got there so it panned out,I tapped the wires from the middle dome by fishing a piece of romex electrical wire thru the open middle dome hole .

took a few tries but I got it, alas my connections need to be revisted cuz the bugger didnt work, but I know its the connection, and of course there was no plug hiding behind headliner. so Im gonna go over my connections and Il post some pics too by first of this week.

when I say fished I taped some small gauge wire, a hot and a ground that I cut off and old wall wart I had laying around,to the romex and fished it thru as taking the headliner down is a major job. and used some of little blue wiretap connectors which I dont think made a good connection thus the light not working at the moment was cold out so I gave up for the day.

I soldered the wires to the pins inside the dome light that I was adding, which are not the best connections and are suspect as well as it is made of low grade pot metal, the real solution would be to buy the plug for the dome on ebay and connect that way imo. but I was winging it on the day in question. I look it up soon and go that route probably.

So far I have done all Interior lights with LED's . I used I think 6500k ,Bummer is the lighting has a mild Blue tint ,I was looking for pure white :O But can live with it for now !
I also changed the Reverse lights to LED and a very nice upgrade, Did the Third Brake light as well.
For the brake light I went with the RED LED'S as people mentioned here the white can bleach out some red !
I will do head lights soon, I have Quads! What do you have and use ?

Found a dome light wiring harness I'm guessing from a junk yard but off eBay, snagged it for 23.00 bucks ,thinking it'll help as its got the plug on it I needed for better connection to the dome pins that I originally soldered. Ill keep ya posted. not a good pic but there's a darker colored plug there that accommodates the dome light pins mentioned earlier.

I cut the plug off the Harness that I needed that goes to pins on underside of dome light versus trying to lower the headliner which is very involved, simply tapped into center dome hot and ground.. all total bout 80 bucks invested but I think its worth it , now when you open the door you can hear the angels sing!!!!!!!! bright as hell!! aint nobody hiding in my truck in the am, hell theyd get shot anyway. lol.

Hey I know it’s an old post but mine has some metal connectors pushed in. The light isn’t coming on after wiring. Is yours like this? You can see where the connectors are pushed in. Idk if it comes from the factory like that? Or if it was blown

Gathering the parts to do this both of my trucks. One has the light at the back window and the crewcab has just the center light.
Thanks for the posts and part numbers!
