Added USB Ports!

So since everything is charged with a usb cable now and there weren't any ports in the back seat, I added this.

I just mounted a little distribution block and used the power from the existing jack. I also had the jack in the center console that needed to be rewired. Also going to the block are wires for a CB and ham radio but aren't in any of the pictures.

I just cut the very end off, and I mean very end, and soldered the new wire to them.

That is correct sir. I could probably pin them out to be extensions of the other ports, but I just don't use them that much.

ill definitely be doing that when i eventually swap in a center console. I hate having people in the back stealing my cords and having wires everywhere

I know I could walk outside and find out for myself but it's cold outside; are these always powered or do they have to have the key on?

They have to have the key on. I thought about having them always on but sometimes the truck sits for a while and I don't want to kill the battery.

You'll have to run a line from the power port up front in the dash.

I was hoping there was power under one of the seats. It would make more sense to splice the power in the center arm rest than run it from under the dash. Unless I'm missing something and there is a dedicated accessory power circuit under the dash?
