anybody prefer their older 4th gen to their newer one?

I have a 2011 laramie 1500 that I've always liked so when it rolled into the mid 200k range I decided to buy a new 2017. I like the new transmision and the air ride suspension, but the interior functions annoy me. I know I'll get used to the shifter knob, but losing my DVD player, the sat radio replay mode losing steering wheel skip forward and back and the list on the screen, having to go into settings to warm my feet up instead of defrost when it's easier to just turn a knob without looking. Among other things. I know i'm being a little extreme, but all these little things annoy me to the point I don't drive my new one because I genuinely prefer the old one.that's never been the case with me and I'm starting to wonder if the guys and girls who design the interiors now ride the bus.

I'd like a newer one but my wallet prefers my 2012 over a new one and its kinda the boss. Along with my crummy credit...

I have an '09, so I'm at the beginning of the 4th gen. I test drove a '13 and seriously considered it, but I got a better deal on the '09. Whether I would have preferred the'13 better I can't say. It was a fairly basic Tradesman 3.6 vs the sport/SLT Hemi I have. I'm sure I'd have preferred the mpg, but I do love the sound of the Hemi is passing gear.

I definitely dont care for the climate controls being built into the 8.4 screen.

I had a 2011 slt qc 4.7 4wd 1500 and now have a 15 tradesman cc 5.7 4wd 1500 and the only thing about the 2011 I miss is the 6.5ft bed. My slt was fairly base and my tradesman is about as optioned up as a tradesman can get. (Uconnect 5, back up camera, 3.92 gears, cloth, carpet etc) Either way, the 15's refreshed interior is nicer than my slt's was. Do you have the same trim levels? I went down 2 trim levels, yet I feel like I have a much nicer truck.

I've always preferred bare bones interiors. Heat, base stereo and sliding rear window and I'm good to go. Still kinda miffed I had to pay the hidden cost of A/C when I've never even used it. Also that satellite radio, waste of money and that ugly wart of an antenna on the roof.

I went for the limited with the 149 wheelbase so I could keep the standard box with the crew cab.
