Is the lighting. I hate how the dash lights are nice with white and red, and then every other button is green. The hvac, stereo, cruise control, everything is green.

I wonder if it would be easy to switch them out to white?

Thoughts?

It's by no means simple for the average Joe. All the dash lighting is LED. You'd have to be good at circuit board soldering to change em out.

That being said, it has been done successfully on Gen IV's a couple times.

Yeah google is a good resource, I figured I'd ask here first and see if anyone around here has done it or has any tips about doing it.

I was implying there is a good complete thread on another forum, that should be able to be found with relative ease. I think he even posted the LED PNs you need to do it all.

My biggest gripe so far, is the chrome trim around the shifter area....it reflects the sun right into my eyes for most of the day.

Ain't figured out what I can do about it yet, but it is very annoying.

I know that is an option, but I am hoping to be able to calm it down for me, but still be able to return it to factory for resale/trade in purposes.

It pops right off, I painted mine matte black. It looks factory, and is so much better.

I finally got sick of getting blinded by mine and gave it a rubdown with 150 grit sandpaper and 2 coats of a textured Krylon black paint. Matches the center plastic and looks great.

Like others have said Plasti-Dip is what you are looking for. Plasti-Dip is a spray on rubberized material that peels off with ease. Standard Plasti-Dip is a matte black finish. They make various other products such as "Glossifier" and "Metallizers" that you spray over the Plasti Dip for a different look.

I've even seen some people spray plasti dip on to cover something, and then spray with Dupli-Color paint and clear coat. Apparently it doesn't peel off easily but it still peels off in pieces.

If you have any questions about it I wrote up a DIY in the DIY section on how to do it. For reference: http://www.ramforum.com/f77/plasti-dipping-diy-14513/
