You can use a heat gun to remove scratches in plastic.

You have to go slow with the heat, but the scratches will simply melt away. Use caution and hold the heat gun about 4-6 inches from the surface. Work the heat in and out and round and round. Don't let the heat gun sit in one place too long.

Do it wrong and you will get a shiny spot on your dash. Do it right....the scratch will be gone.

That little scratch should come out in a couple minutes.

in a toyota i had there was a scratch on the back panel where the seatbelt is. very simular to your scratch but a little smaller. i took acrylic paint and mixed it till color matched and went over the scratch. wasnt even noticable after that. just an option for you if you never get brave enough for heatgun...lol. on a side note i heard about the heat gun method too .

I've used the heat gun to correct imperfections in vinyl windows. It's amazing to watch the vinyl go back into it's original shape. I didn't know you can use it to fix scratches though. If it works like it does on the windows that's great!

Too bad so much of the plastic is so soft on these trucks :( Hard enough to not make your elbow, happy if you rest it on there, but soft enough to scratch really easily.

I've successfully used heat as well. Just don't use your finger to smooth it out after you heat it (like I did the first time). Just let the heat do it's job. I actually used a lighter -- which is even more tricky. Too close, and you charred it. I don't have a heat gun. A very hot hair dryer may also work.
