Hey guys does anyone know how to hook up led lights so they come on when the headlights come on. I see a lot of people are hooking them to the dome light but I want them to come on in the dark and stay on.

Wire them up with a relay and where the wires are at the switch find your headlight power and use that as a trigger wire for the switching part of the relay

Not to be a naysayer, but aren't you concerned about being distracted by the extra lights while driving? My gear would be that reflections would be caught by all the windows and thrown around the cab.

No not at all my last vehicle had them put in by factory. The LEDs I have are not crazy bright but enough to notice while night driving

Use a volt meter to check the wires as you turn the lights on and off

Here's another option. If you're buying LED's, just have them on all the time. I've put red led strips in my last 2 trucks and run them whenever the key is on. They don't get hot and last forever!

Here is the pinout for the headlight switch connector. Might want to try the "Panel Lamps Driver" which will likely allow dimming to boot.

Not sure if you can actually pull directly from "Headlight Mux" signal (or want to) as it probably goes to the BCM which in turn sends out a separate signal to the headlight relays. Better check that one with a meter. Hate for you to ruin your BCM and get error codes.

The i370 connector is behind the Driver's side air vent/behind the side dash cover. You can pop them out along with the headlight switch assy for a look if you like. As you say, it's where some people are pulling some of their lighting from.

Aren't there already 2 pin footwell lighting connectors down behind each front kick panel? Don't the factory footwell lights come on with the headlights anyway?

Hey thanks. No the factory foot well lights only turn on and off with the dome light. I already tried that out. I will try the panel lights like you mentioned. As I do not want error codes lol

If you are looking for full time power.... tap into the harness under the driver seat...that's where I tapped into for my led cup holder lights ... anytime the ignition is on, the cup holder lights are on.
