Lots of vehicles have headrests that lean forward.... pretty sure they wouldn't do it if you were gonna break your neck in a crash.

The manufacturers really should intentionally crash some of these vehicles to see what happens to occupants. Maybe a government agency could even standardize these tests so you could compare one vehicle against another. That would keep us from having to slam ourselves into the seats to make sure they're safe.

I just got a 2016 1500 quad cab ... and the headrests are constructed backwards! If you were rear-ended with those headrests leaning forward, you'd likely break your neck and be KILLED, or at least seriously injure yourself.

After trying to figure out what was going on with what appeared to be some sort of manufacturing design screw-up, I realized that my headrests were manufactured as a mirror image. I got some help and pulled the headrest out. I re-installed it reversed, and that is obviously the way it is supposed to be --- except that the notches that hold the headrest at a particular height are now located where they don't do anything.

I don't know if my car is a freak, or whether there are a lot of owners unaware of the orthopedic risk. I am going to contact RAM about this because this is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Apparently there is some chatter elsewhere on the Web about this, but found none here.

Swap passenger and driver. Then maybe the notches will be correct?
