Hi all
I found a few month ago a OBD II headup display in sale and I thought it's a nice feature.
Amazon etc offer the same or similar ones.
Hint:
Make sure that you get one with a flat and not a round cable. A flat cable is easier to press in at the side of the dashboard.

I thought it's a big deal to install the headup, but it isn't. It's very easy and done in around 30 minutes or less.

* Plug in the OBD to USB adapter in your OBD port.
* Open the side of your dashboard with a flat screw driver. It's only fixed with snap in pins. Easy to pop out.
* Make sure that the cable don't block (best not touch) the park brake/park brake release. There is way enough space in this area under the dashboard, don't worry.
* press with a flat screw driver the cable in the gap wet ween the dashboard and side cover. Here is great to have a flat cable. Near the speaker is a screw or similar that prevent to press the cable deep in. But it's ok.
If needed or if you want pop out the cover of the speaker. But it's not needed. Hide cable always in this gap till you are in the area where you want to have the headup display projector.

Fixation and setup according the device manual.

I tried the reflection patch but this patch border me way more than the double reflection in the windscreen.

That is the one feature I miss from my old C5 Corvette, do you have pictures of the display in use?

That's the same version.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015...amp;pi=SL75_QL70&keywords=head+up+display
Mine have a X5 suffix in the name, but all are the same.
I don't like other overloaded info models, speed are good enough for me.
The photoshoped in car photos are funny, the display is not so huge shown. And of course....
If the projector device is close to the windscreen, the numbers are smaler, and bigger if the projector part is more far away.
With the reflecting patch, the numbers are nice clear, but I don't like the patch. That's like a frame in my sight area.
Maybe I will try it later again, we will see

Thats without the reflection patch, sticker or how ever it's called.
Easy to see the double reflection in the windscreen. I don't like to have a grayish patch at my windscreen. I prefere this version.
With this patch the numbers are like sharp printet.

Please see my Amazon link in above.
There all explained
But honestly...... I guess the most interesting thing is the speed and its easy to see.
But not easy to see are the the small graphs of the other Infos.
Rpm is easy to see, too. (show a little bit less than the car show)
Amazon offer similar devices with different designs to show the info. I would not take a overloaded one, because a HUD should show only fast to see and important infos. Not all engine Datas and tons ob bla bla

Oh, I forgot.....

To test a HUD (most speed only)you find in app stores for cells are gps based apps for that.
Check for HUD for example.
Works good and maybe good enough.
Or for reasonable use a old cell.
