Help Needed - Map Lights

I purchased some led's for the map lights, seems like an easy job. Pop the over off (left side, bottom one since the pic is turned over) and can't seem to figure a way out to safely pop the other piece off...

Also changed my license plate bulbs, all working but when I turn the truck on I get a 'license plate light out' warning message. Kind of a **** off, I didn't have either of these issues on my 2013!

As for the light out message. It's likely because the LED lights have a lower resistance than a conventional bulb. Some times you have to get the LED lighting sales code added by your dealer.

Thanks for the reply, I did see that before I made this thread.

I have removed the lens, see my photo. My issue is there is a reflector or something under the lens, I do do have access to the bulb!

Yours are basically soldered on. I'm not sure of xrsman got it changed but I do remember seeing the post about it.

Yep, you already have LED's I believe. It's tough to change them out by reading his thread, but doable.

They have pathetic light output for leds :crazy:

Couldn't you just change to the non-led and upgrade those?

That's the thread I looked for! I knew it had been done, but was quite a chore, it seemed like.
