Hello all, I have a 2016 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. It isn't even a month old yet, 478 miles. I have read about the dreaded recurc door issues in earlier models. My issue seems to differ from those. As I increase the HVAC fan there is a whistling noise. It does this no matter if moving or setting still motor running or not. I have done some investigating and found out if I apply light pressure to the top of the housing where the in air cabin filter is supposed to go it stops. (I have not done the aftermarket air filter install) Seems to be where the recurc door and bottom fan housing meet. Maybe a bad seal? It does not do this when the recurc button is activated. Am I wrong in my thinking it is not the recurc door issue? I have a dealer appoint next week but I want to go in informed with all the possibilities.

Thanks all!

Take it back to the dealer, that is what warranties are for to correct those little problems from manufacturing.

Just turn the system on and show them what you have discovered. Put pressure where your whistle goes away to show them. If you have the cabin air filter this is probably your problem or the blower motor itself.

Never heard of the dreaded recirc door issues in earlier models and doubt that is your problem anyway.

The recirculation door normally is 90% outside air 10% inside air (normal) or 10% outside air 90% inside air (recirculate)

If your 2016 shipped with a cabin air filter door, it's likely not clipped on all the way. Push in on the door and push out on the clips to the left and right until you hear a click.

I had the same noise when I added the door to my truck. It is located behind the lower glove box.
