I'm looking for something with a factory fit and there really aren't any pictures of this that I can find.

Yeah sure can ... they basically just sit on top of the plastic molding. ..held on by 8 little screws...they are not form fitting by any means ...will get you some pics when I get the chance

How well do they seem to be holding up. I don't like that you have to screw them in is the only thing. Illuminated steps are so cool though

I ended up modding my sills to get them to sit flush, I hated how they would sit up with how they were designed. Plus, I wanted them to match my interior so a few LED strips and difusing orange film and I had my own sills. I later installed a similar flat illuminated strip in orange to get rid of the hot spots.

Damn that's nice. What'd you do to make it flush? I might have to do that.

You can see in the 2nd pic. I ended up trimming the plastic door sill to fit the Recon dolls flush. I bought a second set of oem sills to cut up and paint. The 4th gen sills are different and should actually be easier to modify.

The other option is to make your own sills using the mopar chrome door sills and some electroluminescent strips/EL Tape. That's what I'm doing in my new truck.

I might be thinking about a plexiglass lens with led tape under and taking a Dremel to cut out the ram logo. That's not a bad idea

Did you just cut a "trench" in the plastic sills so they would sit lower ?

Pretty much. There's a plastic cover over the wiring harness under the oem sill that you can screw one side into, just use a screw just long enough to go through the illuminated sill and into the wire cover but not through it. I believe mine were only 1/2" long, the other side goes into the lower door seal
