Anyone know how to open this spot up to install a switch in it? I'd like to put the switch for my light bar into it. I know how to remove the panel, but how do you get the spot opened up?

You don't. You'll need to purchase the up fitter kit to add aux switches in that way and it will (i believe), be a whole other bank of switches that will go where you see the RAM below your climate control.

There've been a few do it, (search the threads for upfitter), its expensive and not the easiest thing to do.

I put mine down on the side. Out of the way and Hidden but still easy to get to.

Wow that's actually a smart idea I have been wondering where's a good place thanks!

I assume that's an oem for? If so what's the part number , if not links :)

Not OEM. OTRATTW switches, an OTRATTW 2 switch bracket. These just press fit into the cubby. There was one hole drilled way into the back top of the cubby for wiring access.

Rounded triangle shaped fill piece is actually cut from a plastic notebook cover and glued to the back of the switch bracket. If I ever pull the switches, no sign (other than the invisible single hole in the very back of the cubby), will be visible.

I stand corrected. You CAN use those slots. That's a pretty involved mod. Thanks smoothee!

More work than I was willing to tackle so I just sprung for the oem panel, lol.

That's a fine setup you have there too!

Where did you get the panel to mount switches from? I have been looking all over the place for them?

I have a spare for sale in the for sale section... nobody makes them that I have found. I custom made mine, but moved my switches so don't need it anymore.
