I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that it is a simulated leather being its mass produced quantity.

It is a bonded leather so yes it's real leather but is it solid leather no it is not it's like the engineered hardwood flooring of the material world . But that said it does benifit from a good leather cleaner and reapplication of a good leather rejuvenator every 30 to 60 days pending where in this world you live and weather your truck is an out door or indoor truck

Yup, it's fake. Trust me, after the issues with the Grand Cherokee leather dashes, that's a good thing. In 2 vehicles I have had 4 replaced.
Yep. When I was buying my 300 SRT, I was able to find one with every option except the "Poltrona Frau" premium leather wrap option, so I went without. I was disappointed until a year or two later when I read all the horror stories about it shrinking, cracking, or peeling off.

It is real leather! I have replaced a few ram and g.cherokee dashboard shells at work because the leather is bubbling or comming off the plastic shell. Not sure if its quality leather, but it is real. It is just glued on top of the plastic panel.
