I have searched and searched for info on changing this out. I am changing all my lights out to 5000K LEDs cause I like the pure white look much better than the yellow look. My question is how do you get into the housing for the dome light (I have the factory LEDs in the cabin), and how do you go about changing it out. Thanks for any help you guys can give me. I just don't want to get back there and mess up the housing or the factory LED and then cannot fix it myself.

We don't have the same dome lights. Mine has the factory LED interior lights. The rear dome light is a LED soldered onto a board. You can't just pop a bulb in from my understanding. I was hoping someone on here has figured out a work around for this.

I'm pretty sure that is not possible. It has some special connector the board attaches to. The only way I see would be to buy an extra board from mopar, take the LED off, and solder on new LEDs, and I'm not good at that stuff.

Check this thread out for replacing the front ones.
http://www.ramforum.com/f42/flickering_led_map_light_fixed-82756/

Never tried the rears. BUT a cool little feature I just learned about is the rear light can be turned on by itself by pressing it

I pulled the front console down today to look at what it would take to fix the flickering LED. I did not cut anything and remove the LED circuit board. So this repair thread is showing how to do the LED mod but my question is "will the new LED (short 194) light plug into a socket that is already in the light panel?" I have no problem ordering the new lights. So this repair is saying that the socket for the 194 bulb is already in the factory panel? If so, it looks like a simple repair.

Yes the fronts do not take to much effort. Just depends if you want the stock reflector piece up there how careful you are at doing it. Now when someone can figure out the rear I'll replace them all at once because I don't want the nice white in the front and then that yellowish color from the rear.

Did you ever find out how to do this? I'm in the same boat with the rear led being a chipboard. I have blue in the front and white in the back I hate it

Same for me also.
Maybe it is possible to replace the whole rear passenger light unit with a non LED and then install a blue LED inside?

I never did. I saw somewhere a person soldered new LEDs to the board, but I have not figured out anything to change this.

Just buy the non led housing. For the front, remove the bulb boards and there is a 194 socket underneath.

Checked the pricing for the non led in the 2016 RAM 1500 and it is quite prohibitive (approx. $150 CDN-$115 US)!! Will put a blue film inside instead
