Map light trim bezel

I know someone on here removed the small bezel piece around the overhead light assembly and painted it. I'm trying to do the same thing but cannot get it loose.
Can I get some guidance please?

I didn't paint mine but if you pull the bezel from the overhead the black part will separate from the outside trim. Just have to push it out and don't be scared you're gonna break it lol.

Ok but I cannot get mine out of the headliner. I am afraid of breaking it trying to get it out. Lol

Trust me it won't break lol. I had mine out to install my power fold mirror switch. Very easy. Just use a plastic pry tool and it will pop out
