Curious to see if anyone has any pictures of their hard wiring for radar detector's into their rear view mirror power and what wires they tapped into. I know there were threads previously but the picture links no longer work. Just need a reference to go by since my electronic abilities are lacking. Thanks

I hard wired mine into my rear window button. On the harness, there is a side with 2 wires and a side with 3 wires, I connected it to the middle wire on the 3 wire side. It turns off/on with the truck. And, the direct wire kit I purchased had the smartcord head, which I mounted to the upper console. The black portion of the console is very soft, so I use a drill bit sideways and made a very small crevice (if you will) for the cord to run "through".

Believe it or not, I know the RD is not "far away" (being on the windshield), but it's nice to be able to simply reach up and hit mute.

And a couple more shots. One from the side to show you it's the middle of the three wire side. The other is from the front to show which harness I tapped in to.

And, if you haven't already done it, be sure to pull from the side closes to you and/or the sides first. The side toward the windshield is "hooked" into the liner.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I don't have the upper console or rear slide window like yourself. The only power ill be able to tap into might be the back up camera that's built into the mirror itself. I may steal the way you mounted it because that looks great, i'll just have to go up there with a multimeter and test for myself.
