My dome light won't turn on when I open the door.

Check the settings in the Evic, I think there are options in there for that

You might have the the dimmer switch turned all the way over to the left which will allow the dome light to NOT turn on while the doors are open...according to the owners manual it's known as "PARTY MODE"

Read below from the 2012 Ram Owners Manual

Interior LightsCourtesy and dome lights are turned on when the front
doors are opened, when the dimmer control (rotating
wheel on the bottom of the switch) is rotated to the far
right detent position, or if equipped, when the UNLOCK
button is pressed on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
transmitter. When a door is open and the interior lights
are on, rotating the dimmer control all the way left, to the
OFF detent, will cause all the interior lights to go out.
This is also known as the Party mode because it allows
the doors to stay open for extended periods of time
without discharging the vehicle’s battery.

I just bought my 2009 Ram 1500 last Friday and when I first looked at it the previous week the dome light was working and now it's not.

I don't have and EVIC and I checked that I wasn't in party mode. The dome light still won't come on unless I press the unlock button on my key fob. I checked the fuses and from what I can tell they're all good.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking if having the doors open without the lights coming on is Fiat's idea of a party, these engineers need to get out more.

So I have this same problem, dome lights won't come when I open the door or use the remote to lock or un-lock.

But you can turn them on by touching them. They have power.
No, the headlight switch is not in party mode. lol

Even the green wire that's behind that side dash panel when you open the door. I taped into it to power some extra interior lights.
It's not getting power. I just have no idea where that wire goes to see if maybe that has something to do with it.

OK, finally I figured out my 2019 Ram. Tried the dimmer switch thing, which i had tried before but the culprit was up there where the dome lights are. There is a switch that can toggle left/right if you want to turn on either of the lights. Now you will notice two lights marked if you place it in the center. Then when I open my door, the lights came on.
