My interior upgrades, Seats, VP4, Leather heated wheel

Okay I've gone full nuts with the upgrade bug. I replaced my center seat with a nice Laramie console. The bezel came with all the buttons for my future upgrades. I did the premium cluster which is one sweet easy upgrade.

Next up I bought a leather heated wheel & ordered my clockspring. Which should be here Tuesday so that will be the first of my next batch.

Had given up on finding leather seats as they were just so damn expensive. Then found a partial set on car-part. Had the drivers leather seat & rear seat. Passenger was unfortunately screwed in the wreck. Got them for $510 shipped which was by far the cheapest I have found. Said they were gn metal grey? Took a chance & just bought them without seeing any pictures. So I have yet to say I am happy with the purchase. I've heard a few stories about getting hosed on seats. Keeping my fingers crossed there. Then I'll be on the lookout for a passenger seat. Not only to try to match things up. I'm not sure if the drivers seat heating & cooling will work if the passenger side isn't hooked up as well. The smart guys here who have done the mod aren't sure as well. I'm ordering the basic power harness from Deerguy so I can at least have power to move the seat. I also asked them to get me as much of the wiring harness as possible. Which the guy said his guy was able to get. What that means I won't know until it arrives. LOL

Then last night I bought a VP4 8.4 nav radio from a 2015 ram 1500. It's from canada so I don't get the Uconnect apps but my truck didn't come with them anyway. So no problem there. I have the bezel for the radio already but it is the dual zone one. So looking to pick up the single zone one.

Okay where there is the list of things to come. I'll post my progress as things come in. So thankful to everyone who has pioneered these upgrades. I wouldn't have a chance of doing them without someone paving the way

So I did the leather katzkan upgrade. I have a dog and even with the seat cover he got the old seats messy. Leather cleans up nice. Did the 8.4 nav and bezel upgrade. Harness from a forum person. Diesel evic was expensive but I love it. Did the overhead console and have lights, but need to get the homelink working. Any help would be appreciated. Steering wheel and mirror with mic this week. Will finish off my interior. 20 inch wheels waiting till I wear the original tires. Then at same time bilstein 5100 on front set to 2.1. Dual exhaust and new rear black bumper to replace the chrome. Banks engine upgrade. What else to do?

Honestly I am not totally sure. Took a chance on Car-Part & didn't even see a picture. Price was good & talked to the guy on the phone. Just keeping my fingers crossed they come & I don't get hosed. They are from a 2015 & the guy I talked with knew the truck. He had been in it multiple times. Supposed to be gun metal grey leather. So felt a little better. I'll post some pictures when they arrive

There is no gun metal grey leather. You most likely bought a vinyl seat.

Well it was listed as leather & is electric. Won't know until it get's here. I'm pretty confident it is leather though. If it isn't I'll refuse them.

Pics! We need pics!
Okay got my clockspring in today so was able to install my Leather wheel. Radio controls work. I also managed to get my clockspring on without issue with being off center. Thanks to reading the articles here warning of that very thing. The air bag clips weren't to bad to get too. Now I just need my seat so I can get the heated wheel portion working as well.

The clock spring wasn't cheap. Bought one for $247 on eBay. It was the whole assembly. Watched a Video on youtube for Clockspring replacement. The video I watched showed popping the clock spring out of the assembly. Mine came with the assembly with a plastic insert that locked the Clockspring in place. Was very easy to replace the whole assembly. The turn signal arm just slides off the old assembly into the new one.

So while this upgrade isn't exactly cheap. The wheel is much nicer gripping than my old one. Be great when I get my heated wheel working as well.

Tracked my seats which might just show tomorrow. I ordered the wiring harness for it from Mike. Just keeping my fingers crossed my leather seats are really in good shape & leather.

Seats came in

Okay so I scored on my seats. Only wish they included the passenger seat. Of course then I wouldn't have gotten them for $500 shipped. Anyway they are Laramie seats from a 2015. They are the common black Leather. Guy told me gun metal grey. I kind of figured they would end up black.

The rear seat is a split bench & has the seat heaters. Doubt they will ever get hooked up but my center console does have the wiring for the switches that go in the rear of the console. The extra bonus here beside the split bench is it came with the extra setup to make the rear floor flat with the seat up.

The drivers seat has electric with the memory settings.

I am getting the complete Wiring Harness made by Mike for it. Hopefully next weekend I'll have that & can tackle the wiring. I temporarily used my power outlet to power the seat. Just so I could adjust it & actually use it. I've got a good 5 hour drive tomorrow I really wanted to have my new seat in for it. I already love that seat. A very noticeable difference the first time I sat in it.

Next up will be my 8.4 radio but doubt that will get here before the weekend.

Found a passenger seat to match

Okay I found a passenger seat to match my seats. Its in Utah & I'm getting it for $250. Is a little dirty but leather isn't cracked, split or cut. Taking a bit of a chance with it as well. I won't get to view it personally before buying it. Saw some pictures but they aren't good quality. Not paying to ship it which helps. My daughter is there for school. She is picking it up at the yard for me. Then I've got an uncle who is coming through. So I should have my seat in about 2 weeks. Which works pretty well as I'll be in Dallas for work from the 11th-14th. Was planning to get wiring done this weekend with my new harness. Forgot I fly out pretty early saturday morning. So it will have to wait until the following weekend.

Okay my daughter picked up my seat & sent me a picture. Matches my set so that part is good. It is definitely dirty but should clean up fine. Still hoping he got the pigtail with the plug on there when he pulled it. Asked them to give me at least 6" of wire. I wasn't sure of the differences between mine & figured I'd need the plug
