You don't need a different dash bezel.
I put the original bezel on the 8.4 and it fit, it was tight, but it fit.
The connections on the back of the 8.4 swapped right over. All I had to do was flip the main connector 180 degrees and the others are color coded.
The dealership got me an unlock code for my stereo.
Parts manager just put in the serial number into his computer and my VIN and 5 seconds later I had my unlock code. He didn't even charge me for the service. He said he'd never tried for a customer who was swapping before, he'd just done ones for the service dept. when they needed.
