Default Outside temperature gauge is off
Today when I remote started my truck the heated seats and steering wheel didn't come on. I didn't think much of it until I notice that the outside temp gauge was reading 48 degrees, but it was actually only 26 degrees out. The system worked perfectly just yesterday. I know some have posted that if the truck sits in direct sun light it can effect the temperature as much as 20 degrees but this wasn't the case for me since I have been parked in the shade. Would it be beneficial for me to reset the computer by disconnecting the battery in hopes to remedy this issue. Any input would be appreciated?

I'm thinking they have flaws in their electrical systems in these trucks. My guess is it's all tied to the radio unit... I've experienced that as well as my nav not working and my phone in my vehicle needing service. Keep us posted if you fix it.

I hear you, had to change settings on my NAV to just get it close to being reliable. Haven't had any issue with my phone docking up though.

Hi PNWramguy,

If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to follow up with them for you if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know!

Just an update, due to time I haven't been able to get my truck into the dealership but the problem has seemed to work it's self out. My outside temperature gauge seems to be within a degree of every thing I check it against. The only thing I can think of is when I washed my truck Sunday to get road grim and salt off it, Maybe to close with the pressure washer.

I came out of skiing on Wednesday and mine said it was -30 when it was really about 10. It usually straightens itself out once you drive a bit but they definitely are off when first started. The Wrangler I had before this if left in the sun would say like 117 when first started until it would go to it's correct 92.

That has always been the case but for two days it would drop to -5 degrees and up to 50 degrees all in a 5 mile stretch of road, just all over the place. Seems to have settled down for what ever reason though.

Once mine said it was 32 degrees outside when it was actually about 75. I was trying to figure out why my heated seats and steering wheel were on, lol. Fixed itself after about 10 minutes.
