So if you have a 5.0 Uconnect and swap to auto dim mirror it's just plug and play? I was under the assumption it wasn't able to work without the 8.4 cause you need the function to turn on in the screen

I was under the same impression. I'm running one on my truck that originally came with an RA1 (3.0) and it didn't work until I enabled the setting for it in the BCM with my scan tool.

Ricks Ram put one in his '14 that I believe originally had a 5.0 (he now has an 8.4). I think his experience was the same as mine.

I retrofitted the 911/Assist auto dim mirror to my 5.0 equipped 2013 and as stated earlier in this thread, the auto dim feature just works. I have no menu in the radio tho, so no switching it off. The 911/Assist buttons lighten up but are non functional as was to be expected. I don't care, as I just wanted the auto dim feature. No dealer coding was needed.
