I've tried searching, and its either not here - or I'm just not using the right key words.

I've got a 2014 2500, and when I start the truck up, it goes to a RAM logo I believe.

I've seen other screens that seem to know what truck its in. For example, the clusters for sale - if put in a 1500, they say 1500. If its a 2500, they say 2500 HD on the startup screen.

Is this changeable or something? Its a minor detail, but I'd love to have my cluster say 2500 HD instead of RAM or the logo - I don't even know what its displaying now that I think about it. lol

The logo that shows on startup is based on the PCM of the truck the cluster is installed in so unless there a way to change the PCM you can't change the start up screen.

From what I've seen all 2500s show 2500 HD. I was curious when I put mine in too and that's the one I got. No they aren't changeable though. Not yet anyway. Maybe someone smart can get into engineering more and figure it out.

That's weird, because mine doesn't indicate its a 2500. I wonder if that changed after MY2014 or something? I really want it to say 2500. lol

I will give you this data point, I have a 2015 2500 tradesman with the basic cluster, I bought a 2014 premium cluster from a 1500 and it only showed the RAM logo on my 2500.

Since 2015+ on 2500/3500's, the factory AUX switch function was programed through the cluster menu. The 2014 premium cluster I had did not have this AUX switch menu programing. So I sought out and bought a 2015 premium cluster from a 1500 and put it in. The 2015 premium cluster had the "2500 Heavy Duty" log on startup and had the programing menu for my factory AUX switches.

Conclusion: 2015+ Premium clusters have the startup screen model detection and appropriate display for the model it is in.

True. I think Hootbro sorted it out though. Guess it's just the 2015+ clusters.

Yup, 2015+ received a radios from a different manufacturer than the 2013-2014s, supposedly, and are programmed differently. Most things are the same, but there are a few differences, and the startup logo is one of them.

My 2013 and 2014 show(ed) the RAM logo. My father's 2015 shows the Laramie logo, as he has a Laramie.
