Re-circulation doesnt work properly

Does anyone else have an issue when you have the air on, and hit the recirc button and it doesnt light up? I think my AC control panel is bad, recirc barley ever turns on unless i have max ac on, also if im running air, sometimes ac gets turned on even though i dont have it engaged.

The only trouble I had was when I used the recirc it wasn't turning the flap. Not sure what the dealer did but it seems to be working now.

It doesnt even light up when i push it... i once sat there for 10 min pushing the button and once it came on it turned recirc on. Also it turns recirc on when mac ac is on and you can tell the door is moving and doing its job

If your truck is equipped with a 5.0 radio your heater control module is actually built into the 3 knob assembly mounted In Your bezel and is easy to change. They are easily found on eBay very inexpensively. They make a 4 speed version and a 7 speed version if I remember correctly your truck should have the 4 speed version make sure you get the correct one. If your truck is equipped with a 8.4 radio your heater control module is actually separate from the bezel. The heater control module is mounted underneath the glove box. It is hard to determine from what you're saying if it's a bad button in the bezel or if it's a bad heater control module if you have a 8.4 but at least you would know where to start troubleshooting. The heater control module cost around $80 and you can pick up 8.4 bezels on eBay for around 150.00.

Ill check my hu, i adapted an aftermarket to the 5.0... just recirc wont turn on unless max ac is on.

When you turn Max AC on, the recirc door is supposed to close. If you turn the fan up to the highest speed with the AC on, it will go into recirc automatically.
The AC will turn on automatically if a defrost setting is selected.

I know I'm saying recirculation door works, just not the damn button, it only auto turns on with Max ac

In the winter on defrost the recirc won't work by design.

If I were you I would replace your climate control assembly ( the three knobs) the heater control module is built into it. This a a 20 minutes job max if you don't have a center console. As I said their are a ton of them on ebay. By replacing this you will be replacing the button and the module at the same time and hopefully correct your problem. As I said earlier make sure you get one with the same amount of fan speeds they make a 4 and a 7 speed.

Fyi, I have a complete 4 speed bezel in the for sale section

and R.L.K. has a 7 speed bezel if you need that version instead.

When i hit the recirc button, it flashes a couple times then stays off. Is that normal?

No it should stay on. The only time it will not stay lit is if you are trying to put it on when it is not allowed on whatever you have your controls set too. In that case it will blink and then shut off.

Yes if I'm not mistaken it won't go into recirculation when it is on defrost and maybe some other settings.

You can't recirc on defrost.

I just got fooled by the same issue; pushing the recirc button and he blinks 3 times and switch off.

Reading this tread i tried the recirculation in all positions and can confirm that the recirculation don't work in the last 4 position on the right side with the defrost sign.
