Does anyone know if the ambient light in the overhead console that shines down on the center console/cup holders can be replaced with a different color bulb? And if it can be replaced does anyone know the bulb size or have a link?

on my 2011 it was LED. Im sure it could but not easy

You can do what I tried, get a small peice of colored film and install it between the led bulb and the hole. I tested it and it worked fine for me, give it a try.

OEM is green so It might not come out to the exact color you want

I tried a yellow piece of lamin X and I also tried a piece of red film that I had laying around. Both seemed to work fairly well when I tested them.

Mine is a white LED too. I like them, my Audi has a red led in the same place, which matches the cluster and button illumination. This is why I think they went with white, so everything matches.

Does anyone know the trigger wire for this light?
I want to use it to light up some cup holder LEDs as well once that light comes on.

Assuming this is the same led on the Express that always shines on the cup holders, so can it be replaced?

I took the console down, (Google my Ram/year overhead console removal), and placed brake light lens repair tape over the hole the light shines through. I put three layers of sticker as the lens tape is pretty thin and gave a pinkish glow. Several layers gave it a darker red glow. Really simple. The lens repair tape was only a couple bucks.
