I just finished my interior project. Wanted to share with everyone. My truck is flame red but I was using the Rebel interior as inspiration. I used 3m 1080 satin smoldering red and brushed steel. For having never worked with vinyl before, I think it turned out great! Some minor mistakes/poor lines/air bubbles but overall, I'm happy with it. The doors were a *****. everything else was easy.

Let me know if anyone has any questions. I'm pretty much an expert at taking the dash apart now lol.

Nice. Let us know what caused the errors you made and if you know where you went wrong. Looking to DIY/play with my interior soon. I'm interested.

Well I was able to take the dash completely apart so the trim around the vents, dial shifter, etc was easy and looks flawless.

The doors were another story because the trim doesn't come off. I tried wrapping the trim with the panels in place and failed. So I took the panels off and it was much easier. just go slow and use a heat gun. It's trial and error. I redid the side vents and the doors multiple times.

Totally changed the feel of the interior.

I'm looking to do this to my interior very soon. Once I order my OEM touch screen nav, I'm going to wrap my accents in the same red as you. Figured I'd do it when I already have the dash apart.

Can I get a link to the vinyl you ordered? The color looks perfect.

Very nice. How do you remove the side vents?

Did You apply the vinyl wet or dry?

There's a specific video on YouTube that shows how to take the side vents off. Kinda tricky. I hadn't gotten my dash pry tools yet and decided to pry them out with a clean putty knife of all things. Ended up snapping off some of the retainer clips but luckily they still pop back in and are snug. Once you get the vents out, the trim is 100% removable from the vent and light selector knob on the drivers side.

Seriously get a set of nylon dash pry tools on Amazon. My kit was like $7. Makes life way easier.

The install is done 100% dry. With a heat gun, the vinyl is very forgiving. Makes it easy to correct mistakes.

There was a definite learning curve for the door panels. I will be redoing some of them soon. If it isn't perfect and doesn't look factory, then it drives me crazy.

Best part is total cost was about $100 for supplies and vinyl. So down the road if I wanna try something different, I can with just a few hours of work. I love doing mods like this.

Makes me want to move on to plasti dipping my chrome emblems. Not sure what to go with since the truck is flame red with chrome bumpers and nerf bars. Perhaps black to match my wheels and tint?

Props to you! Anyone that does DIY deserves every bit of credit. Sometimes you gotta love your truck as much as other things I. Life ;)

Harbour freight usually carries the interior pry tools for a couple bucks also.
