I have a 13' Big Horn Crew Cab. Can anyone tell me what the empty wiring harnesses under my rear seats are for? There is one on each side near the back corner closest to the door.

Can you check to see if yours has a wire connected to the other end of the harness? It is very easy to see if you lift up the seat bottom.

It's for the heated seats/led lighting some trims have. My truck has this harness that does not connect to anything...

They are for if you decide on putting a amp and speakers back there. If you pull your stereo out you will find them dummy plugged in the plastic surrounding the stereo hole.

What i can't put my cursor on, is why Ram put such a large 6 connector plug on something so seemingly unimportant
They could have used a 2 wire connector

Rear seat heating would explain a bit

I found a website for Chrysler Connectors

such as:

HEATER-SEAT BACK-LEFT

Full Repair Kit: 68087932AA

Then they have an image of the part
Benny's name was mentioned on the site where i discovered it

yeah I'm sure it's for heated rear seats more than likely. They probably just used that plug so they didn't have to reproduce another one. Makes it simple. Or outsource a different one.

Well then, what would be involved in hooking up heated seats in the back? Do tell if known.
