I'm new to this forum but love my Ram. I was idling one day and my truck just shut off and took a second to fire back up. Took it to the dealer and they said the 5th cylinder was dead. And I have a wiped cam lobe. They wanted 4000.00 to do the job but insisted it's better to buy a new engine. My truck has 174000 miles on it. It's an 2009 Ram 1500 Laramie with 5.7 Hemi and mds. I wondering what years (if possible) could I get a hemi from a another Ram 1500 that would work without reprogramming the ecm? Thanks ahead time for any replies.
