2011 1500 staring issues

Has anyone else had problems with there 1500 when starting? mine likes to sit there and crank for about 5-7 seconds before running. been to the dealer 3 times for the same problems and they can't find anything wrong. any ideas?

sounds like a cold start to me, but im not familiar at all with new vehicles (i refuse to buy anything younger than me)

ok then ignore my last post, ummm.... maybe faulty plugs, wires, or distributor? i know my camaro did the same till we changed the sparkplugs. someone else might have a better answer though

the first time it went to the dealer for this problem they told me the computer needed to be re-flashed to update the software. its gotten better but still does it.

Welcome to RF man!

Definately should not be doing that. Not sure what it could be, but they need to fix it before it gets worse.

i agree. you bought a brand new truck and its not running right. them saying "theres nothing wrong with it" means they didnt look hard enough. i say take it back and demand them to fix it.

I swear, I hear more dealer problems with these 4th gen trucks than I ever have with anything else. ******* shady-ass stealership. It's fine if the truck has a minor problem or something... BUT FIX IT! Don't be a bunch of douche's and crap on your responsibility to ensure customer satisfaction and service.

thanks for the welcoming

i ended up trying another dealer by my house to see if they can come up with anything. its almost like the fuel pressure isnt there so it has to re prime itself before firing. mid way thru the cranking it wants to start then just goes back to cranking a bit before starting. good thing is the truck starts even if it has this problem.

Yeah really can only be 3 things: starter, fuel, or spark. So at least it's not too complex.

If its cranking its not the starter. is there a different dealer you can take it to?

Hmmm, sounds like either fuel or computer problems to me. I would have a dealer pull a scan.

I have had two hemis and my dad has had 3 never had starting issues with any of them. Don't let them off the hook.
