2014 front ring gear not welded in!!!

Ok so over the past 2 days I have been to 3 different dealers and have had 8 mechanics all tell me that the 2014-2015 front ring gear is not welded in and we can do a gear swap on the 4x4's :roflsquared:

Are u saying the crown gear is welded in? Are you saying a gear change is not possible?

It means youd have to swap out thw whole front differential..case and all

Im confused, are you saying yours is not welded in or, is welded in..? If yours is one of the ones that isn't welded then your lucky!

I have no clue what was so confusing about j's first post, or how he could have possibly made it clearer. He even threw in the little spinning smiley face.

j, you might want to reconsider, posting and driving at the same time.

The only thing stupider than welding the ring gear, is putting 3.21s and 3.55s in to begin with! What moron thought that was a good idea?!

I LOVE my 4.10s. 15 mph @ 2000rpm in 1st gear. 70 mph @ 2000 rpm in 6th. I had to take Sugarpuss and her Mother to the Louisiville Airport, last week. So I drove the speed limits, which was 55 quite a bit. I filled up just before and right after. Close estimate (I have yet to do hard numbers) was over 20 mpg on that run.

I'm wondering now can the 2014 front diff fit a 4.10 gear with out needing to be machined cause if it dose I'll just go with 4.56's anyone know??

2013's are welded some real early 14's might be but there's only a hand full from what I was told. But it's always worth a shot to pop off the cover and take a look. The hell cats are the only one welded for 2014 and 2015 but there still not sure what 2016 will be yet

Still doesn't help you unless you can find an aftermarket gear company manufacturing replacement ring and pinion gear sets in non-factory ratios for that diff (215mm?) :crazy:

The front should be the same as the 2013 and lower

4.56 are available. Rear would need to be machined though
